

Kathryn Marie Holden passed away peacefully on August 6, 2013 in Edmonds, Washington at the age of 87. Marie was born September 1, 1925 in Pooler, Georgia, near Savannah, to Edward, Sr and Carrie Readdick. She met her husband of 59 years, Sam Holden, in Savannah while he was stationed there. They married in December, 1942 and she joined him in Washington State when he was discharged in 1945.
Marie loved to travel as well as collect Carnival glass. She was a member of the Lynnwood Emblem Club for many years and was grateful for the wonderful friendships she formed there. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother Abbie Readdick, her husband Sam, brothers Cyril and Edward, Jr, step-brother Jack Alderman, and her beloved sister Moody Clark. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn Turner with husband Richard, her son Don Holden, her grandchildren Adrienne Stewart, with husband Dan, and Eric Turner, great-grandchildren Kyle and Rachel Hanson as well as many nieces and nephews and their families in Georgia.
Services will be held on Monday, August 12th, at 1 pm at Floral Hills in Lynnwood, Washington. In lieu of flowers, she asked that donations be made to the Tall Ladies Children's Therapy program through the Lynnwood Emblem Club
