Given the name Marcell June by her parents, Charles and Agnes (Strickland) Deamer, on June 15th, 1923 in Bremerton, Washington. Our beloved Honey is now “Dancing with the Stars” as of January 25th, 2016.
A born adventurer, Honey didn’t have any trouble finding something fun to do and while she was growing up she discovered the love of dancing and big band music. She took that love of dancing with her when she joined the United States Marines after high school and seized every opportunity to teach her fellow soldiers how to dance. After serving her country, Honey returned home to Bremerton to marry Eugene Brown and they embarked on many wild adventures together all over the western United States and Alaska while raising their family.
Dancing solo for a few years, Honey joined a square dancing club and happened to meet Arthur Langdon and after a few dates he told her “the buck stops here” and they were married for 27 wonderful years. Together Art and Honey shared their love of family, traveling, camping, and dancing. Honey never knew a stranger and was a proud member of the Lady Marines organization for many years.
She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur Langdon, son Butch Langdon, and granddaughter, Janine O’Buzz. Once a Marine, and always a mother, Honey is survived by her children; Calvin (Dottie) Brown, Dixie (John Miller) Brown, Paul Langdon, Tom (Dawn) Langdon, Vicki Langdon and Arta Rose (Mark). She was loved by her grandchildren, David (Leslie) Atkins, Connie (Neto) Brown, Camron (Amanda) Brown, Jesse (Melissa) O’Buzz; and her great grandchildren, Ezra, Zoe, Hazel, Azalea June Atkins and, Barrett and Kendyl Brown.
Honey loved a good party and the family requests that bright clothing be worn to celebrate her life.
