L. Diane Bates, 64, was born on October 24, 1947 to Albert and Lois Bates. After attending Santa Monica High School and Central Washington University, she retired from a teaching career following over 30 years of service. Besides teaching, Diane enjoyed gardening and helping as a volunteer with a pug rescue program. She passed at home in late February, and is survived and mourned by her siblings, Roger and Cheryl.
