Joyce was born on April 13 1934 in Waseca, Minnesota to Delbert and Adeline Brase. She was an only child. She loved her dog Pudgy and used to push him around in a baby stroller. She loved to help her dad on the farm. She married Donald Perkins April 5, 1953 and his big family took her in as their own. Don and Joyce started their family in Minnesota then moved to Washington in 1964.That is where they completed their family with their four children: Mike (Sharyl) with grandchildren Christopher, Diane, and Kammi; Julie (Myles) with grandchildren Mandy and Michelle; Gina with grandchild Jessica; Genny (John) with grandchildren Jamie and Emma; And 27 great-grandchildren: Alexis, Mackenzie, Natalie, Reese, Claire, Maddie, Peyton, Caleb, Benson, Thatcher, Graham, Hadley, Nellie, Dawson, Emmett, Remi, Malachi, Desiree, Eisley, Gabriel, Gemma, Lennox, Cooper, Dakotah, Kyson, Regan, and Cash.
Joyce’s true love, her best friend, Don passed away in 1994. Although heartbroken, she went on to live a happy life. Lots of trips to Vegas. A couple cruises, and took care of her aging parents. Her greatest joy was seeing all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved looking at photos of them on her tablet. She also loved going to Starbucks to enjoy her favorite drink, a short extra hot latte. She was an avid Seahawks and Mariner fan.
Joyce will be laid to rest next to her loving husband and her folks. Her beautiful blue eyes will always be watching over the family that she loved so much.
In lieu of flowers we are asking for friends and family to treat themselves to a Starbucks short extra hot latte in her memory.
