Joan Helen Burton

Joan was born on September 29, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. She grew up in Winnipeg and Vancouver, B.C. where she enjoyed dancing and attending church groups with her many friends. Joan moved to Washington after her marriage to the love of her life, Homer Burton, in 1950. They had celebrated 63 years of marriage. Joan devoted her life to the care of her family; she took pride in her exquisitely kept home and was a master gardener. Among other things, she was an Avon lady through which she took pleasure in meeting new people and created many friendships. She is preceded in death by her brother, Ted; and sisters, Jean and Bernie. Joan leaves behind her loving husband, Homer Burton; three daughters, Marilyn, Charlene, LeAnne; sister, Adilene; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Purdy & Walters Floral Hills Funeral Home in Lynnwood, WA.
