Jennie Louise Johnson was born July 16th, 1929 at her grandparents home in Tacoma Washington. The daughter of a lighthouse keeper, she and her beloved sister and two brothers grew up on the beaches of Dungeness, Marrowstone Island and Mukilteo. She grew up during the great depression followed by world war II. While this was a time of lost hopes and dreams for many, Louise gained strength and the gift of love and encouragement growing up with the influence of her hardworking parents and grandmother Corrie.
Her first job as a teenager was serving breakfast on the Washington state ferry run from Mukilteo to Clinton. This is where she met her true love Milton. The two were married when Louise was nineteen. Soon after they were married, the couple set off together traveling across the states selling cookware. Louise supported Milton putting on dinner parties in private homes to show off and sell the cookware. About one year later, Louise had her first son in Bozeman Montana. He was delivered by a doctor in a cowboy hat and boots. This would be the beginning of her deep love of being a mother. Eventually the new family would return to Washington state and settle in Richmond Beach. Over the next years Louise had another son and two daughters. The family then moved to Shoreline where Louise dedicated her life to her family. She prided herself on a clean and well-kept home filled with so much love and warmth. She had a knack for making every event, holiday and birthday extra special. The love she put into everything she did, shined through.
Louise had a great love for animals and music which would carry on through her children. She supported her kids in music, dance and figure skating lessons. She was at every event giving the support that every child longs for. She was always there when you needed a helping hand, a word of encouragement or to give the strength to carry you to the next day. Some of the sweetest moments for Louise was sitting at her kitchen table listening to her eldest daughter play her favorite melodies on the flute.
As her kids grew and eventually left the nest, she never stopped enjoying life. In her fifties and sixties she was helping her youngest daughter train German Shepherds and in her eighties she was showing dairy goats and winning in the show ring.
After 72 years of marriage, Louise's beloved Milton was called home by the Lord. She eventually moved in with her eldest daughter where she spent the remainder of her life in her loving care.
Louise passed away on October 29th, 2022. She was her family's rock, core of love, strength and guardian angel. There could be no one more pure in heart, faithful to family and of course no better cook.
Louise was survived by her sons Milton and Mitchell Johnson, daughters Melinda and Melissa Johnson, daughter in-law Tracy Johnson, Grandson's Cory and Chris Johnson, Granddaughter Jessica Shell and Great-Granddaughter Aliana.
