Jack was born June 28th, 1928 in Port Orchard, Washington to Clarence and Maybelle (Nichols) Hawes. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1947 and went on to study Pharmacy at the University of Washington. He married Clarice (Craswell) Hawes in 1950, before graduating from college in 1951. Jack and Clarice made a home in Seattle, where they raised their four children. They spent summers camping and water skiing at Alta Lake and taking road trips. One of Jack’s many interests included US History and he particularly enjoyed visiting ghost towns and other historical sites with his family. He worked his life as a pharmacist until he retired from Harborview Medical Center in 1988. In his free time, Jack was an avid Bridge player and enjoyed traveling the country in his motorhome.
He is survived by his four children, Jack Hawes Jr (Debbie Hawes), Cheryl Hawes (Stan Fouts), Tim Hawes (Janet Hawes), and Jeff Hawes (Theresa Harris); his grandchildren Oliver Fouts, Nicholas Fouts, Meredith Hawes, Alicia Fouts, Derek Hawes, Jeffrey Hawes Jr, Matt Hawes, Dustin Hawes, Trevor Hawes, Jacque Byrne, Tanner Hawes and Ryder Fouts; his great-grandchildren Rory, Tyler, Emily, Lucas, Lauren, Hendrix and Zoe; his sister Audree (Hawes) Walker; and his longtime companion, Ramona Arcuri of Puyallup.
He was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Clarice.
