Gordon Orr Downs

Gordon Orr Downs, age 77 years, of Shoreline Washington passed away on June 13, 2022. He was born to Georgia and Gordon Downs of Bremerton Washington on June 11, 1945. Gordon lived with his Mom until his mid 30s. He went to live at Fircrest and learned to work in the laundry. After he mastered all the machines and the job, he was hired as a fulltime state employee. He retired after 24 years on the job. After living at Fircrest Gordon moved into a SOLA home in Shoreline. Many of the caregivers became Gordon’s friends. They laughed together, he worried about them when they were sick and missed them when they weren’t at work. He loved them. Gordon loved being with his family as well. He went camping with them, rode his red motor scooter, fished and visited around the campfire. He took lots of trips with his sister and her family. He’s been to California several times, Montana, Eastern Washington, Canada. Gordon Cruised to Alaska, the Caribbean, and Hawaii. He spent most holidays with his family cooking, shopping and hanging out, and, of course, eating out.

He was proceeded in death by his Mother and Father. Gordon is survived by his sisters, Pattie (Frank) Roberts and Virginia Downs and his nieces and nephews, Andrea Harmon, James Martinez, Ena Langevin, Keegan Langevin, Melissa Downs and Jon Karlo King.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 6th at 2:00pm at Spiro’s Pizza and Pasta at 18411 Aurora Avenue N, Shoreline. Memorial donations may be given to the charities of your choice.
