Glen Allen Prater

Glen Allen Prater was born in Seattle on November 16th, 1936 to Dean and Martha Prater. His parents raised Glen and his siblings in Bothell, Washington. Glen was a talented athlete lettering in football, basketball, baseball and track. He graduated from Bothell High School where he met his wife Pearl. After settling down in Shoreline they had two children, Christine and Allen. Continuing his love for sports, Glen would golf and bowl regularly with Pearl and the kids. He would go on to coach junior leagues as well as participate in league bowling around the Seattle area. Glen spent 50 years working in the scrap metal industry before retiring in 2007. In retired life he would fill his days with puzzles, bowling and spending time with his three grandchildren. On July 23, 2023 Glen passed away peacefully at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife Pearl, daughter Christine Rosen, daughter-in-law Shawn Prater and grandchildren Marissa, Brian and Jillian. He is preceded in death by Allen (son), Calvin (brother), Andrea (sister) and parents Dean and Martha. Glen will be remembered as a loving friend, devoted husband, father and grandfather.

A memorial service for Glen will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
