Florence M. Gavinsky Prater, the daughter of Harry and Rose Rogerson, was born in Klein, Montana on September 29, 1925. She was the youngest of ten children. Flo was called home and her life ended peacefully on the 2nd of August 2013 She is survived by her two children Robert Gavinsky and Linda Iverson and their spouses, her two adored grandchildren Stephanie and Michelle, her loving sister; Madeline Morrison and her dear friend Vi Jerin.
She married her husband Robert Gavinsky of 41 years before they moved to Helena. The Boeing Company then brought them to Seattle and initially she worked at the Pacific Car and Foundry. She was also an employee at the VA Hospital both in Helena and in Seattle.
In 1992 she was remarried to Marvin "Bud" Prater and they moved to Lacey, Washington. She enjoyed their time together until his death in 1997.
She enjoyed bowling, flying and traveling, gardening, playing cards and her spectator sports (she was heartbroken when the Sonics left town). But mostly she enjoyed the time spent and her friends and family.
In March of 2010 Flo moved into a beautiful group home in Sammamish. In August of 2012 she took a turn for the worst and was hospitalized for several days. It was only through the loving and professional care of Ana and Gregory Petrisor and the grace of God that we were able to enjoy another year with her.
