Diana was born on July 27, 1935 in Lewiston, Idaho to Herbert and Margaret Weberling.
Her family moved to the Puget Sound area when Diana was 12. Together with her two younger sisters, Marsha and Linda, she grew up in the north end of the Seattle area, graduating from Edmonds High School in 1953, where she earned several athletic, cheer and other honors, including being voted Homecoming Queen in her senior year.
Following graduation, Diana enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving as a radiowoman/Seaman Second Class during the Korean War era.
While in high school, she met and fell in love with Roger Pinneo, her soulmate for 72 years and husband for 67. Born ten minutes apart and coming from similarly challenging upbringings, the two seemed star-crossed from the first date. They were married in June of 1955 and had two sons, Jeff and Greg. Together, Roger and Diana raised their family in the Edmonds area. When their sons left for college, they moved to their beloved mountain home on the Skykomish River in Baring, Washington, where they lived and built friendships and community for over 20 years.
In 1976, Diana placed her faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, a decision that forever changed how she saw and loved the world around her. That led to a lifetime of service to others - often, the most vulnerable in the communities in which she herself lived. If you were lonely, suffering, a single mom or the child of an incarcerated person, she saw you, she befriended you and she came alongside with healing love and support.
She loved bees.
She loved to paint beautiful things and to write beautiful thoughts.
She loved ‘little people’ - her term for the countless children she loved and welcomed into her life.
Diana is survived by her husband Roger, her two sons Jeff (Janey) and Greg (Shauna), her 10 grandchildren Chelsea (Casey) Ward, Luke, Amy, Joel, Everest, Rain, Race, Cor and Teak Pinneo and Bryan Galeotti, as well as her 5 great grandchildren.
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
