Danica Noelle Plunk, age 18 of Bothell, Washington passed away May 12, 2019. Danica was born in Seattle, Washington on September 27, 2000 to Kevin and Mary Plunk of Bothell, Washington. Danica (or "Danni" as she was referred to by many staff and students), attended Secondary Academy for Success and was currently in her senior year of highschool.
In Grade school, Danica took part in swimming, soccer, and gymnastics. For a 6th grade assignment, students were asked to use various adjectives to best describe themselves. Following are a few of the words Danica chose: creative, bold, artistic, smart, funny, daring and helpful.
While at Kenmore Junior High she assisted at Lockwood Elementary as a peer coach where she worked one on one with a student and their daily work. She also assisted set up for games and practices with her school's soccer team. Danica found she had an interest in performing on stage and soon starred in two school plays. It was in 9th grade she was first invited by her friend Sam Trott to attend Youth Group at Bothell United Methodist Church.
While a member of Youth Group, Danica volunteered for various activities from helping to prepare Sunday morning breakfasts at the church, or an occasional trip to help at the local soup kitchen, to volunteering as a children's leader where she lead kids on activities and guided them on field trips. She also assisted in painting children's faces during the holidays. On a Mission trip to San Francisco she volunteered at the Bay Area Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter where she helped serve food to the homeless, helped organize the kitchen storage unit, passed out care packages on the street, and babysat children.
Her writing and artistic abilities flourished as she grew older. During Danica's 11th and 12th grade years at Secondary Academy for Success, she became involved in the school's music program.
Danica will be greatly missed by family and friends and those who had the opportunity to know and work alongside her. Danica was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Richard Isaac Mirador and Celerina Mirador of Port Orchard, Washington and paternal grandmother Lucille Ellen Plunk of Yakima, Washington. She is survived by her parents, Kevin and Mary Plunk, brother Isaac Plunk, her paternal grandfather Elvis Plunk, his wife Barbara Plunk, aunts, uncles, cousins, her childhood friend Jaiden Lemley, her boyfriend Jack McAlister Howard, as well as her favorite pet dogs Sadie and Scotty.
Her Interment of Ashes Ceremony will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd. in Lynnwood, WA 98036 on Saturday June 29th, 2019 beginning at 9:30am. The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will follow at Bothell United Methodist Church 18515 92nd Ave NE Bothell, WA 98011 at 11:00am.
