First child to Glendon William and Shirley Hillman Gee and first granddaughter to Ivin and Pearl Gee, Carma inherited her grandmother’s passion and life’s calling as a primary school teacher and sparked in others, including her siblings, a deep love of teaching, reading, writing and music.

She visited the schools in New Zealand while vacationing there taking notes in her journal about their novel approaches to learning. She worked as a teacher in the Granite School District in Utah (Kindergarten and First Grade) and in Madras, Oregon, and worked as a full-tIme substitute teacher in Washington State’s Marysville and Lake Stevens School Districts (Grades K-6). She was licensed to teach in Utah, Oregon, Nevada, and Washington State.
Her commitment to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was evident through her service as president of a women’s organization in her congregation of close to 700 in Carson City, Nevada. Her passion was evident in efforts to shepherd and love children in her family and in congregations wherever she lived, from New Hampshire to North Dakota, from Washington State, to Utah, Nevada, and Oregon. Carma’s interests included nurturing the gift of friendship, writing, teaching, and music which have brought her so much joy throughout her life.
