Barbara Ann Cunningham, 82, of Everett, WA went to be with our Lord & Savior on Tuesday, December 26, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Rd, Lynnwood, WA.
Barbara was born in Detroit, MI to Joseph & Anna Szwabowski on September 15, 1935, the 6th of 7 children. She graduated in 1952 as Valedictorian from Patronage of St. Joseph High School in Detroit.
Barbara married Earl Cunningham in Detroit on January 19, 1957, and they remained together for 50 years until Earl's passing in 2007. In August of that year, Barbara relocated to Everett, WA.
Barbara was the heart and soul of the Cunningham family. She was blessed with 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. She raised her children first in Detroit, then in Houston, TX and finally in Palmdale, CA. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family - playing games, watching sports, and just being together. Barbara truly loved the Lord and was his faithful servant throughout her life. She was very involved with her church, Christian Faith Center, in Mill Creek, WA.
A void is deeply felt with Barbara's passing; her warmth, kindness, generosity, and enduring sense of humor will be missed by all that knew her and loved her. She will always be known as our mom, our grandma, our great-grandma (G.G.), and our friend.
Barbara is survived by her 4 children: Joe Cunningham & his wife Jennifer of Modesto, CA, Mariana Cunningham & her husband Vincent Galbreath of El Segundo, CA, Cori Ingram & her husband Danny of Bothell, WA, and Jim Cunningham of Everett. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Sarah Jang (husband J.J.) Lauren Yelenich (husband Clayton) Cacie Johnson, Deana Cunningham, Nolan Cunningham, and Erin Ingram; plus, her 2 great-grandchildren, Isaac and Juliette Jang. Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Patricia Szwabowski and Norma Corbley of Roseville, MI.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation made in Barbara’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (http://www.lls.org) or other cancer-related charity of your choice.
