Mr. William J. Mellen, age 58 of Lynn, died Saturday October 16, 2021 at his home after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born in Lynn and was a life-long resident. He was the son of the late Walter Mellen and Beverly Vega. He worked for many years as a union carpenter and was Mr. Fix-It to everyone he knew. Papa Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them grow.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Mellen; his step-sons, Paul Ruvido and his wife Caroline and Michael Ruvido and his wife Rita; his grandchildren, Matthew and Lucia Ruvido; his sisters, Edith LoCherico and her husband Jim, Ellen Gregory and her husband Ron, and Deborah Castano and her husband Dan; and his brothers, Michael Mellen and his wife Cheryl, Robert, Arthur, Mark, and Charles Mellen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and lots of LOUD ITALIAN in-laws.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday October 21st from 3pm to 7pm at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home at 157 Maple St. Lynn, 01904.
