Wayne J. Matthews

Mr. Wayne J. Matthews, 67, of Lynn passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at home with his loving family at his side following a brief illness. He is the husband of Lien (Kieu) Matthews with whom he shared 17 years of marriage.

Wayne was born December 29, 1951 in Lynn, he is the son of the late Arthur and Milda (Trebul) Matthews. He was a resident of Lynn for most of his life, a graduate of St. Mary’s High School.

Wayne worked as a Planner at General Electric for many years until his retirement in 2011.

Wayne will be remembered as a great husband, brother and friend with a big heart and was always willing to help. He had a great personality and liked to laugh. He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. Wayne truly enjoyed taking care of his family and enjoyed entertaining and having a cold beer with family and friends.

In addition to his loving wife Lien, Wayne is survived by his sister Debra Franklin of NV. His nephews Matthew Prendergast of NV, David Prendergast of NV, Michael Matthews and his wife Ariel and their son Elijah of Lynn, Daniel Richards and his partner Kaity and their two children Mason and Mackenzie. He is also survived by cousins Robert Campbell, Maureen Gauthier and Karen Fitzgerald-Campbell.

In addition to his parents Wayne is predeceased by his brother Gary and sister Gail Matthews.

Wayne’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 from 5-9 PM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 1:30 PM.
