Mr. Warren M. Anderson and Mrs. Jean (Durkee) Anderson, both 93, of Beverly, formerly longtime residents of Fernwood Ave in Lynn and Londonderry, NH, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 and Sunday, February 2, 2020 respectfully. The loving couple shared 73 years of marriage together.
Warren was born on October 10, 1926 in Swampscott to the late Axel and Theresa (Robinson) Anderson. Jean was born on December 22, 1926 in Lynn to the late Harold and Helen (Sheldon) Durkee. The two were both raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from Lynn English High School with the Class of 1944. Following high school Warren enlisted in the United States Navy serving his country in WWII. Jean graduated from Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. They were married on October 13, 1946. Warren later attended Wentworth Institute. Both of them were employed for many years at TRW (formerly Carr Fastener Corp), he as a machinist and she as an executive secretary. Warren was a long time member of Shoemaker Legion Post 345. Jean was a member of Eastern Star.
They were the loving parents of Richard Anderson and his wife, Donna of Lynnfield, and Douglas Anderson and his wife, Anna of Lynn; the cherished grandparents of Brian Anderson and his wife, Christina of New York City, Heather Kuberski and her husband, Jason of North Andover, Marisa Anderson of Boston, Douglas R. Anderson and his wife, Sharyn of Beverly and David J. Anderson and his wife, Kelly of Wilmington; the adoring great-grandparents of Quinlan, Arthur, Elise, Joshua, Oliver, Annika, Andrew, Ryan, Hanna, Leah, Cora, Nathan and Ashley; Warren was the brother of Harold Emile and Earl Anderson, and Jean was the sister of the late Betty-Jo Burke and the late Norman Durkee. They were the aunt and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Jean and Warren were avid Boston and youth sports fans. They were season ticket holders of the Bruins and Celtics and never missed watching a Bruins, Red Sox or Patriots game. They both enjoyed tennis which Warren played well into his 80's. Most of all they loved spending time with their entire family, especially their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A private memorial service for Jean was held at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home on February 10th. Funeral services for Warren are private. As they were big fans of the Red Sox, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston , MA 02284-9168.
