Theresa M. (Lessard) McGrath, age 94, formerly of Lynn, passed away at her daughter’s home in Peabody on Saturday, July 24, 2021. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph McGrath, with whom she had shared 43 wonderful years of marriage.
Born in Disraeli, Quebec, Canada, on December 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse and Marion (Venn) Lessard. As a young child her family moved to the United States and settled in Lynn. She later went on to work for Champion Lamp for many years.
In her free time, Theresa loved traveling with Joe and dining out with her friends and family. She loved music, especially singing Sinatra hits with her granddaughter. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, all of which will greatly miss their Nana.
Surviving Theresa are her two daughters, Theresa Slavin and her husband James of Lynn, and Mary Ann Stinson and her husband William of Peabody; her grandchildren, James Slavin, Michael Slavin, Heather Beausoleil and Jennifer Stinson; and her great-granddaughter Olivia.
Theresa is predeceased by her 12 brothers and sisters.
Theresa’s family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers, Marion and Dammalie, who took such wonderful care of their cherished mother and nana.
Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday, July 28th from 9:00 a.m. until 11 a.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 at St. Pius V Church, Lynn. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Theresa’s honor may be made to All Care Hospice, www.allcare.org/donate, who provided exceptional care and support to the entire family.
