Age 92 of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Salem Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1925 in Lynn the daughter of the late, Emile J. and Ethel T. (Gaudet) Bourgeois. She was raised and educated in Lynn and graduated from St. Mary’s High School. Tessie managed The Terrace Room coffee shop in Lynn Hospital for many years. She loved to be around people. She was a very spiritual person who had attended St. Jean the Baptist and St. Anne’s Churches over the years. As a younger woman she loved to cook for others. She was often known to prepare home cooked meals for the local Priests and deliver them to the local Rectories. Tessie was very active with Post 161 Am Vets Auxiliary where she served as President several times. She enjoyed watching TV and especially loved her dog “Gizmo”.
Tessie was pre-deceased by her husband, Phillip B. Doucette in 1966. She is survived by her son, Jonathan J. Doucette and his wife, Susan of Lynn, her sister, Jan Solone of Peabody, her sisters-in-law, Marion Bourgeois, Rose Bourgeois and Ellie Bourgeois as well as several cousins in both the US & Canada. Numerous nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews also survive her. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings; Gerry Cormier, Norma Cook, Leonard, Raymond and Rene Bourgeois.
Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Doucette’s visitation on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 5-8 PM at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, MA 01904. Her funeral will begin at 10 AM on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street in Lynn. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In-lieu of flowers, donations are requested to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
