Rose Marie April

Mrs. Rose Marie (LaRose) April, age 66, of Amesbury formerly of Lynn, died peacefully on Tuesday evening in the Kaplan Family Hospice House surrounded by her family and friends following a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was the beloved wife of Robert April, with whom she shared 46 years of marriage.

Born in Lawrence, Rose Marie was the daughter of the late Hermond L. and Frances (Dawes) LaRose. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1961. She resided in Lynn for most of her life before moving to Amesbury 11 years ago.

Rose loved life. She enjoyed the peace and serenity of the ocean. One of her favorite pastimes was going out to eat. She was a friend to all who knew her. Rose took great pride in remembering her many friend and acquaintances with a card or a short note. She treasured the relationships that she had with her family and her many lifelong friends.

In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Sherri April of Nahant and Tom April of Greenland, NH. She was the Grandmother of Nicole and Ryan McDermott and was the aunt of Kathy Donahue and her husband Bill of Lynn, Pam Kennedy and her husband Eric of Pittsfield, ME, Debbie Corcoran and her husband Kevin of Lynn, Donna Gautreau of Salem and Diane McCormick of Peabody. She also leaves many great and great great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late S. Margaret “Peggy” Hines, Frances Marrin and Mildred Doucette and aunt of the late Michael Hines.

Rose Marie’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 9:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Pius V Church, Lynn at 10:30AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting Hours Friday 3-7PM.
