Born in Lynn to the late Walter Sr. and Lena (Brienza) Ventura. Richie grew up in the Highlands of Lynn. He graduated from trade school and worked in the shoe shops as a young man. He also was a city worker in Lynn and retired from the Lynn Convalescent Nursing Home.
He was a lover of music. Richie played in a band when he was young and loved playing his guitars and singing. He was married to the love of his life, Annie, for 37 years. They loved to dance, whether it was going out or just putting on some music. They loved visiting with their friends and families. Most importantly, Richie loved his children and enjoyed their visits and the time spent with them.
In addition to his wife, Richard is survived by his children Tracy Ventura of Lynn, Richard Ventura and his wife Marianne of North Andover, Paula Rodgers and her husband Mark of Peabody, Joseph Ventura and his wife Kathy of Florida, and Anthony Dyer of Lynn; his siblings Rita Dunleavy of Florida, Judy Ventura of New Hampshire, Carol Nelson and her husband Joe of New Hampshire, and Guy Ventura and his wife Laura of Saugus, Joanne Caron and her husband Gary of New Hampshire, Virginia Serven and her husband Lawrence of New Hampshire; and his brother and sister-in-laws Stephen Speliotis and his partner Robin Newton of Lynn, Diane Pruitt of Lynn, Kathy Stanton and her husband Robert of Woburn, Tina Matheson of Danvers, Stephanie Sonia and her husband George of Lynn, and Cynthia Speliotis of Abington; his 11 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a whole slew of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Richard is predeceased by his parents, his brothers Walter Ventura, Jr. and Anthony Ventura, his sister Linda Ventura, and his brother-in-law Robert Dunleavy.
Friends and family are invited to attend Richard’s visitation on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at from 9:00 to 11:30 AM at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. His funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
