Mr. Richard A. Genest, of Lynn, died Saturday, December 5, 2015. He was 60 years old. Born in Lynn on September 13, 1955, he was the son of the late Edmond A. Genest and Jennie (Mastromarino) Genest, and was raised in Swampscott. He attended Swampscott High School and graduated from Essex Agricultural School with an Associate’s Degree and was a MA Certified Arborist. His love of plants and trees was his life as an arborist and he could easily name the scientific species and Latin names of anything around. He was known as the Tree Doctor of Salem. His love of plants was evident in the many pots and gardens he surrounded himself with. He loved his grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time in the woods, camping, gardening, and fixing things.
He leaves behind his daughter Alicia Boisson and her husband Brian, his two sons Richard “Anthony” Genest, II and Christopher Genest, four siblings Edmond and his wife Pat from Connecticut, Peter and his wife Eleanor of New Hampshire, Jeanne Robertson and her husband Mike of Georgetown, and Marcie Gingle and her husband Eddie of Swampscott. He also leaves behind four grandchildren Lily, Brian, Jr., Ryker, and Talan.
