Richard L. Burke

Born in Lynn, Richard was the son of the late John and Ella (Mansfield) Burke. He resided in Lynn for most of his life.

Prior to his retirement, Richard worked for the City of Lynn for over 25 years as a groundskeeper. He enjoyed watching sports and especially loved his country-western music.

He leaves his children, Michael Burke and his wife Ruth of Lynn, Eileen Gardner and her late husband Robert of Gloucester, Cynthia Perullo and her husband John of Saugus, Linda Burke of Lynn, John Burke of Lynn, Katherine Burke and her companion John Munyun of Lynn, Kevin Burke and his companion Karen Zysk of Lynn, Cheryl Ann Burke of Lynn, Matthew Burke of Oak Bluffs, Mark Burke and his wife Suzanne of Salem and Christine Spaulding and her husband Mike of Millinocket, ME. He was the brother of Joe Burke of Lynn and the late Arline Moore, Cynthia Costello, Fran Sanders, John Burke and Margaret Bona. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces and nephews and a dear friend Betty St. Ives of Lynn. He was the father of the late Jimmy Burke.

Richard’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday at 7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours will be prior to the Service from 3-7PM. In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory may be sent to the Lynn Item/Salvation Army Santa, 38 Exchange St. Lynn, MA 01901 or the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave Salem, MA 01970.
