Richard Barnard

Richard W. Barnard, age 71, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017. Richard was the son of the late Howard and Kathleen (Sheehan) Barnard. He was the father of Timothy Barnard of Saugus; the brother of Robert Barnard and his wife, Lois of Vermont, and Kathleen and her husband, Thomas Sobutka of Lynn; and the uncle of three nieces.

Born and educated in Lynn, Richard was a graduate of Lynn English High School. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and worked for the Lynn School Department for several years prior to his retirement.

There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service and burial of ashes will be held on Friday, November 3rd at 11:30 a.m. in the Vietnam Veteran’s Section of Pine Grove Cemetery, 145 Boston St., Lynn.
