Raymond Alfred Levasseur, Jr., 57, of Somerville, MA formerly of Lynn, MA died Tuesday at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Paula Flynn of Somerville, MA. Born in Lynn, son of Raymond Levassuer, Sr. and Lois (Monteith) Coogan, both of Lynn. He resided in Lynn for most of his life, moving to Sommerville 8 years ago. A talented carpenter and craftsman, he was a Maintenance Supervisor for CMJ Property Management in Boston. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gambling, and cooking for his family and friends, especially his famous sauce and raviolis. Most of all, he enjoyed travelling, especially to warm and tropical destinations. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by: a son, Raymond J. Levasseur of Swampscott; 3 daughters: Tina Walsh and her husband, Michael of Weymouth, Chrissy Levassuer and her husband, Boutchta El Youssfi of Allston, and Sabrina Levassuer of Gloucester; 3 brothers: Robert Levassuer and his wife, Mary of Lynn, James Coogan and his wife, Jody of Meredith, NH and Brian Coogan of Lynn; a sister: Darlene Levasseur Carone of Lynn; 6 grandchildren: Rayray, Robbie, Amal, Samir, Aiden and Natalie Ray; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, the late Deborah Carter-Saltalamacchia and his beloved grandmother, the late Irene Monteith.
At Ray’s request funeral services are private. Arrangements are under the care of CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME,157 Maple St. Lynn.
