Priscilla (Bowden) Sharpe of Peabody, formerly a long-time resident of Lynn, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the age of 80. Born in Lynn on August 10, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edith (Clark) Bowden. Priscilla was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1955. She went on to dedicate over 25 years working as a central supply technician for both Lynn Hospital, Union Hospital and Wakefield Melrose Hospital before retiring in 1994. After her retirement, Priscilla went on to volunteer at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for an additional 10 years. Priscilla married her childhood sweetheart, Kenneth B. Sharpe on August 12, 1962 in Lynn, MA. The couple shared over 54 years in marriage and love together, raising and caring for their family, until Kenneth’s passing in November of 2016. Priscilla was a devout Christian woman. She was a past member of both the East Baptist Church in Lynn and the First Baptist Church in Melrose. In her spare time, she loved to be creative whether it was crocheting or expressing herself in wonderfully written poetry. No time was better spent than when she spent time with her family.
Priscilla leaves her children: Kelly Walsh and her husband, Greg of Billerica and Glenn Sharpe and his wife, Kathleen of Peabody, her grandchildren: Molly, Dylan, and Zander Walsh, all of Billerica, and her sister; Linda Bowden of Plaistow, NH. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. In addition to her husband, Priscilla was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Darren Walsh and her brother, Robert Bowden.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at 7pm. Visiting Hours will be held in the funeral home prior to the service from 5 to 7pm. A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
