Patricia "Pat" Ann (White) Montague, of Lynn, MA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 3, 2024 after declining health and a brief illness. Born in Liverpool, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sybil (Gould) White. She was the dear sister of Sheila Boyd and the late Cameron Boyd, and Tom White and his wife, Irene of all of England.
She was the beloved aunt of Louise (Boyd) Cooper, Clare (Boyd) Fox, Matthew Boyd, Amy Boyd, Thomas White, Helen (White) Goldsmith, and Joseph White, as well as eleven great nieces and nephews all of England. She is survived by her lifelong friends, Una McCafferty, Hazel Snow, and Theresa McDermid, along with close friends Julie Burke, Keith Ciccone, Rick Mirkin, Lucy Ward, Maura and Liam Dolan, and the late Lorraine Kench. Her circle of friends was expansive, including friends from her previous work facilities, neighbors and friends from her last residence. She was the ex-wife of the late Philip Montague.
Pat grew up in Liverpool, England and graduated from the Nursing Program as an SRN of Broadgreen Hospital in 1961 having worked at Woolton Babies Nursing Home and as a Midwife from Scarsdale Hospital, Chesterfield, Derbyshire in 1962. She worked in Walton Hospital, Liverpool, until she came to the United States in 1963 and began work at Lynn Hospital, Lynn, MA. She continued her career as an RN at Saugus General Hospital, Saugus, MA. She was a Nursing Supervisor at Annemark Nursing Home in Revere, MA and a Nursing Supervisor at Lenox Hill Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Lynn, MA. All those that worked with Pat respected her dedication and caring demeanor to her staff and more importantly to her patients.
Patricia loved everything British, including The British Royals, Tea, Sunday Roast, The Beatles, and Rod Stewart. She will always be remember for her Christmas Mincemeat Pies which she shared with many friends. Her home was always filled with laughter and she welcomed all to her home to share a cup of tea, a glass of wine, or her delicious meals. Pat loved all of her Black Labradors as each one was her favorite. She enjoyed time with friends at Baboosic Lake in Merrimack, New Hampshire when she was not working. She became a US Citizen in the late 1980’s holding dual citizenship.
She was devout Catholic and woman of faith which she shared with everyone she met. In the recent years, she would have the Catholic TV station on daily and would always have a set of rosary beads nearby and would always offer to hold someone up in prayer. She will be dearly missed by her family and her friends.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Pat on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 21 Bessom Street, Lynn, MA at 10:00 am. Please meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Last Rest Cemetery, Merrimack, NH.
