Olive J. (Caru) Condon, a longtime resident of Lynn, passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 20, 2015. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Quinto and Myrtle (McCarron) Caru. Olive was the loving mother of Donna Condon of Bedford, Wayne M. Condon and his wife, Elaine of Groveland, and the late Maureen Hillner; the sister of the late John McCarron, Quinto Caru, Phyllis Henderson, and Alma Bupp, the cherished grandmother of Cody Hillner of Groveland and Katie Condon of Andover;and the beloved aunt of several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her “granddogs,” Peter H., Benjamin, and Chester Condon and a “great-grandcat,” Maxine Condon. Olive was raised and educated in Revere and Lynn. She was a longtime waitress at the Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus for many years and then worked at Polaroid for several years until her retirement. She was a communicant and active parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Lynn, where she served as a Eucharistic minister, RCIA, a member of its St. Vincent de Paul Society, and helped establish and direct the food pantry, Tree of Life. Olive earned a certificate in nutrition at Essex Agricultural Tech so that she could administer in-home nutrition education to children and families in need. Olive’s funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Thursday, September 24th, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn. Interment will be on Friday, September 25, at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Olive’s memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society c/o Sacred Heart Church, 571 Boston St., Lynn MA, 01905.
