Born in Lynn, MA on February 19, 1963, she was a daughter of the late Thomas William and Eleanor Catherine (McGinn) McDonald. Nancy graduated Lynn English High School in 1981. Following her education, she went on to work for many years in quality control for semiconductor manufacturing, most recently with Atlantic Semiconductor in Peabody, MA. During the later stage of her mother Eleanor’s life, Nancy also selflessly took on the role of her caretaker and companion.
Nancy was loved dearly by those who knew her. Nancy was an avid golfer and longtime member of the Ladies Inner Club at Gannon Golf Course. She was most at ease when it was time to relax and enjoy company. As a devoted mother, and a loving sister, aunt, and friend to many, she treasured the time spent with family and friends. Whether vacationing on Newfound Lake, the Belgrade Lakes, or making her annual pilgrimage to “Gannon South” in Naples Florida, Nancy cherished the time spent with those near to her. In addition to enjoying the celebrations off the course, Nancy also earned quite a few celebrations on the course. A three-time Ladies Four Ball Champ, a Ladies Classic Champ, and a Senior Ladies Net Club Champ, she would always be on the Gannon leaderboard at some point. Nancy no doubt left her mark on all “19” holes at Gannon and will be warmly remembered on all of them.
Surviving Nancy is her son, Charles Gheringhelli, III and his significant other Jennifer Kasper of Lynn; her siblings, Patricia Allen of Allen, TX, James McDonald and his wife Maryann of Lynn, Maureen Weeks of Lynn, Daniel McDonald and his wife Donna of Charles Town, WV, and JoAnn Ferruolo and her husband Louis of Manchester, NH; her beloved boyfriend Paul Zaniboni of Lynn, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her late parents, Nancy is predeceased by her brother in law John Weeks.
The family wishes to thank Care Dimensions and the staff at the Kaplan House, and our extended family and friends for their support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s name to the John W. Weeks Endowment Scholarship in care of St. Pius V. School, 28 Bowler Street, Lynn, MA 01904.
