Mrs. Mary A. (Heigh) McAuliffe, age 94, of Lynn, died Wednesday in a local nursing home after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late John W. McAuliffe, with whom she had shared 59 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Albert S. and Anna F. (Curry) Heigh. She attended St. Joseph’s Grammar School and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1938. She was a lifelong resident of Lynn.
Prior to her retirement in 1986, Mary was an Assembler for the General Electric Co. in West Lynn for over 20 years. She was also a member of Local #201 IEU AFL CIO. She was a communicant of St. Pius V Church and a member of the Men & Women’s Club at the YMCA, the Mass Senior Action group and the Red Hat Society.
She leaves 2 daughters, Linda M. Sheehan of Bradford and Marilyn Fleming of Lynn. She was the sister to Abert S. Heigh, Jr. of Ipswich and Louise Ross of Lynn. She was the Grandmother to Darlene Hornblower, Christian Fleming, Hollie Fleming and Tina Sheehan and the Great Grandmother to Aragon Fleming, Anakin Fleming, Skye Fleming, David Hornblower, Dustin Hornblower and Elisabeth Hornblower. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Rita Bennett.
Mary’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 8:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends invited.
