Mary Jane Kingsbury

Mary Jane (Heffernan) Kingsbury, age 72 years, of Marblehead, died Sunday October 25, 2015 at the VA Hospital in Bedford after a long illness. She was the wife of Garold R. Kingsbury with whom she shared over 40 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John and Leah (Hurd) Heffernan. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School in Lynn and the Lynn Hospital School of Nursing.

She was an honorably discharged veteran having served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. She achieved the rank of Captain and was awarded the Army Commendation Medal.

Mary Jane was a registered nurse at Salem Hospital for many years. She enjoyed going on cruises with her family, especially to Bermuda.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter Christina H. Kingsbury of Marblehead; a brother John Michael Heffernan and his wife Mary Beth of Winchester; a sister Paula Sullivan of Quincy; a niece Kate and a nephew Patrick Heffernan.,

Mary Jane’s Funeral will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Saturday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting Hours will be held prior from 9 to 11am. Contributions may be made in her name to Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org.
