Mary M. Cullin, age 94, of Swampscott, passed away peacefully Wednesday July 29, 2020 at AdviniaCare at Salem, following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip M. Cullin with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.
Born and raised in Lynn, Mary was the daughter of the late Edward L. and Josephine A. (Devlin) Cashman. She was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1942 and Emmanuel College class of 1946. Mary was employed as a teacher by the Lynn Public Schools for 28 years. She earned a Masters of Education degree from Salem State University.
A longtime parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Swampscott, Mary was also a religious education teacher and was active in bible study for many years.
Mary is survived by her children, Philip M. Cullin Jr. of Franconia, NH, Mary P. Cullin of Nahant, Carolyn Osbahr and her husband Thomas of Nahant, Eileen Anastasia and her husband Paul of Mansfield; her sister, C. Patricia Cashman of Swampscott; her grandchildren Colleen and Sean Osbahr, Kerra, Cullin, Liam and Maeve Anastasia; and several nieces and nephews including Martha Lausier of Salem.
Mary was predeceased by her brother Dr. Edward L. Cashman, Jr., sister Natalie A. Sassani, brother-in-law, Nicholas Sassani, and nephew Rev. John Edward Sassani.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10am on Wed. August 5 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott, MA.
Burial will follow at Swampscott Cemetery, Swampscott.
