Maria E. Rosario

Maria Estella Rosario, a long-time resident of Lynn, transitioned on Friday, May 18, 2018 in the NSMC – Salem Hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Maria was born in the Dominican Republic to the late Victor and Maria (Hernandez) Rodriguez. She was the beloved wife of the late Medrano Rosario. Maria was raised and educated in the Dominican Republic and worked in a clothing factory. She moved to Puerto Rico for 8 years before making her home in the USA in 1978. Maria was a dedicated member of her church, Iglesia Cristiana Torrenote de Cedron, Lynn, MA 01902. Madrecita, as she was fondly called, was a grandmother, an aunt, a sister to anyone who needed family. She loved without judgement and demonstrated tremendous kindness with a great sense of humor to everyone who knew her. We all feel so blessed to have shared in her journey.

Maria leaves her son, Elacio D. DeLeon and her daughters; Francia M. Rosario and Miriam Morillo. She also leaves her grandchildren: Wellington DeLeon, Zulmea DeLeon, Angel DeLeon, Brian Rosario, Beverly Morilla, and Cecilia Gutierrez as well as 7 great-grandchildren. Her niece, Maria Alfredo also survives her.

A Funeral Prayer Service will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 7pm. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the service from 4 to 7pm. At Maria’s request, she asked all her guests to wear white. Mrs. Rosario will be sent home to the Dominican Republic for Funeral Rites and burial. For directions, please visit: www.cuffemcginn.com
