LYNN – Lois M. (Everett) Morrissey, 89, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away, Monday, September 3rd, at Lowell General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis J. Morrissey with whom she shared 43 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, Lois was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alice (Campbell) Everett.
She was the loving mother of Scott F. Morrissey and his wife, Karen of Newmarket, NH and Sean M. Morrissey and his wife, Linda of Plaistow, NH; the cherished grandmother of Christopher, Michael and David Morrissey and Shannon Seiferth and her husband, Jeremy; the sister of the late Henry Everett and Helen Pelletier and the aunt of several nieces and nephews.
Lois was a graduate of Lynn English High School with the Class of 1946. She worked as a secretary at St. Mary’s High School for over 25 years prior to her retirement and had also worked at J.B. Blood and Barnett’s prior to that for several years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish and the Converted Catholics of the North Shore. She enjoyed reading, travel and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Lois’ funeral will be held from the CUFFE-McGINN Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. on Friday, September 7th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pius V Church, Lynn. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, September 6th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers contributions in Lois’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s High School, made payable to St. Mary's Advancement, 35 Tremont Street, Lynn, MA 01902 or via the website listed below.
