Mrs. Lillian M. (Mansfield) Wall, age 85, of Peabody, died Sunday in Beverly Hospital after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis T. (“Tom”) Wall with whom she shared 66 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn on August 30, 1928, Lillian was the daughter of the late Richard H. and Ethel I. (Dwinell) Mansfield of Lynn. She was raised in Lynn and attended Lynn schools.
Lillian met Tom when she was a mail clerk at General Electric and he was an apprentice draughtsman. She was a loving mother who devoted herself to her family. Nothing made her happier than spending time with those she loved so much. After several European adventures, she and Tom were content with traveling between Peabody and Florida where they enjoyed frequenting the amusement parks. For many years Bingo was a favorite pastime she shared with family and friends.
Lillian leaves two sons, Thomas R. Wall and his wife Donna of Nashua, NH and Kevin J. Wall and his wife Mary Ann of Amesbury; two daughters, Debra A. Bridgham and her husband William of Lynn and Cathy M. Psehoyas and her husband Peter of Georgetown. She was the Grandmother to James Bridgham and his wife Becky of Centennial, CO, Daniel Bridgham and his wife Erin of Manchester, NH, and Peter, Michael, and Matthew Psehoyas of Georgetown. Lillian is also survived by five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Lillian is also survived by her twin sister Dorothy Sparks of Saint Cloud, FL and was the sister of the late Gloria Negri, Everett Mansfield, Ethel Stark, Irene Way, and Henry Mansfield.
At Lillian’s request, there will be no funeral service, but a memorial service will take place at a later time. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery where her remains will be placed alongside her late husband’s.
