Joyce A. Zorzy

Joyce A. (Rogers) Zorzy, of Exeter, NH, Key Largo, FL, and former long-time resident of Lynn, passed away in her Exeter home on Thursday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 76. Born in Springfield on April 5, 1942, Joyce was the daughter of the late Warren L. and Ruth Ann Rogers. She graduated from Chandler College and became a legal secretary for New England Savings and Loan in Boston. Upon her retirement, she held the positon of Senior Meeting Planner from Massachusetts Community Bank of New England. On May 21, 1966, Joyce married her best friend, George A. Zorzy in Swampscott and the couple settled in Lynn together.

Joyce was a generous and loving woman. She enjoyed traveling and spent her winter months in Florida. Joyce had a passion for golf and loved to fish for dolphin. She loved to tend to her garden where she grew beautiful flowers. Some of her most memorable times was time spent with her grandchildren and family, both near as well as Tennessee. Joyce will be remembered for her happy and upbeat personality that was always conveyed with her beautiful smile.

In addition to her husband, Joyce leaves her grandsons, Tyler and Jarred Zorzy and their mother, Sharon, all of Lynn, her step-son, Gary Zorzy of Lynn, her niece, Kelly Gautreau of NH and her nephew, Dana Rogers of FL, her great-nephews, Mike Rogers and Scott Jackson, her sister-in-law, Ruth Bee of NH, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Helen and Dave Sidman of Lynn, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cindy and Jim Zorzy of FL, and her sister-in-law, Maureen Deyesso and her husband, Bob of NH. She was preceded in death by her brother, Warren L. Rogers, Jr.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 11 to 12pm followed by a Memorial Service at 12pm. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to: Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St. Lawrence, MA 01843.
