Joyce D. Cooper

Born in Pearson, Georgia she was the daughter of the late Joe and Willene (Cohen) Cooper.

Joyce, one of 7 children, was raised in Augusta Georgia where she attended Lucy C. Lany High School. After graduating, she moved to Lynn in 1965 with her late husband Charles A. Williams.

Joyce worked at Nynex Information Resources for 28 years before retiring in 1998. After retiring she also was employed at Lord & Taylor and Lowe’s Home Improvement. Joyce loved dancing, traveling, shopping and spending time with family and friends. She lit up every room she walked into. She was full of life, laughter and fun. Joyce was a woman of great strength and pride yet compassionate, whose love for her family was ever present. Joyce will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends and all those who knew her and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter Sonya L. Anderson of Gloucester, son Chauncey M. Williams, Sr. (Patricia) of Lynn. 4 grandchildren Jaron Anderson & fiancé Meghan Rocha of Plaistow, NH, Treshonna Heath of Winthrop, Chauncey Jr. and Chante Williams of Lynn. Three sisters Josephine Cabbell of Indiana, Jessie Chavous of Lynn, Mary Williams (Vernon) of Georgia. Three brothers Robert Cooper (Michelle) of New York, Joe Cooper Jr. (Jackie) of Indiana, Wilbert Cooper of Lynn.

She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Arrangements: Friends and family are welcome to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Friday, September 18th from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
