LYNN – Joseph M. Martin, 67, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018. Joe was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Codair) Martin of Lynn with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Lynn, Joe was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Helen (Flynn) Martin.
He was the loving father of Brian K. Martin, Joseph M. Martin, III, Katie M. Martin and Shanna Thomas, all of Lynn, and Scott M. Martin and his wife, Rachael of Peabody; the cherished grandfather of Jordan, Riley, and Miranda Martin and Tyler Gonzales; the dear brother of Robert and his wife, Linda of Everett, Deborah Martin of Lynn and the late, Robin Martin; the lifelong friend of Frank Robinson of Lynn and the uncle of many nieces and nephew.
Joe graduated from Lynn Trade School with the Class of ’68 and served in the US Navy in Hawaii as a satellite communications technician during the Vietnam War. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree at Northeastern University in Boston. He was an electronics engineer and worked at Applied Materials in Gloucester for many years. Joe enjoyed playing guitar, camping, and traveling to Twin Rivers Casino. His favorite times were spent with his family and friends.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday, October 4th, 2018 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
