He was the youngest of 4 children born to the late Joseph (Al) Israel Xavier and Rosella (Doucette) LaRocque. Joseph grew up on Duke Street in Lynn, but later became a resident of Peabody with his wife Patricia Laura (Aspden) LaRocque, with whom he shared more than 30 years of marriage.
Joseph attended Eastern Junior high school and went on to graduate from Lynn Technical High School. He worked for many years as a Male Orderly and an Orthopedic Technician at the former Lynn Hospital. He later became employed at General Electric (G.E.) in Wilmington until his retirement in November of 2000.
During his younger years and into adulthood, Joseph was an avid baseball and softball player. He was passionate about the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed golf, bowling, and card nights with friends.
Joseph leaves behind his son Darren William LaRocque and his wife Jennifer of Danville, NH; and his daughter Donna Marie (LaRocque) Isbel and her husband Michael Edward Isbel of Lynn. He was the loving grandfather to Caitlin Rose Isbel, Amanda Lilly Isbel, and Cameron Michael Isbel. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Joseph will be greatly missed by everyone.
