Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late James and Rita Price and her ‘adopted parents Frank and Ruth Crane. She was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Girls High School. She continued her education at Marion Court College earning her degree in Medical Technology.
Ms. Price had been employed for many years at the former Saugus Hospital as the Director of Medical Records for over 25 years. Following the closing of Saugus Hospital, she matriculated to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester, where she was the Director of Medical Records for 15 years. She was well known through out the health care industry for her attention to detail and professional acumen. With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the medical records field, she founded and operated North Shore Medical Transcription, a privately owned medical records company providing services to a vast number of doctors’ offices and health care institutions through out New England. In retirement she worked as an aide at the Ford School in Lynn.
A longtime resident of Lynn and Nahant, Elaine travelled the world through the years. An outstandingly athletic person from a young age, she was an expert skier and spent winter weekends carving up the slopes of Attitash Mountain and much of the summer out on the ocean and lakes water skiing and boating. She skied all over the world and enjoyed many adventures in Switzerland. In the summers, she spent much of her time boating as a member of the Lynn Yacht Club and Jubilee Yacht Club. Elaine was often in the accompaniment of her dear friend, Claire Crane, as she ventured on these adventures. They made a great team, best friends that took on life together. They created many lifelong memories all over the world, laughing all the way. Elaine was a kind, incredibly intelligent and adventurous person, who achieve much in her life, yet outwardly you would never know as she carried herself with great humility and dignity. She will be forever missed and always remembered.
Elaine is survived by her adopted sister and dear friend of many years, Claire Crane EdD of Lynn, her siblings and extended family and friends.
Her funeral service will be held at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn, Tuesday, April 30th at 11:30 A.M. Relatives and friends invited. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours prior to the service from 10 to 11 A.M.
