Eileen was born in Lynn, daughter of the late John “Joe” and Mary E. (Foley) Galvin. She was a lifelong resident of the city and was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School.
Eileen worked at the General Electric Company River Works in the Personal and Security Department for many years until her retirement.
Eileen was a long time communicant at St. Pius V Church, a former member of the Sacred Heart Sodality, a member of the GE Riveretts, the Local 201 IUE AFL-CIO. She was also active with the Saugus Seniors and enjoyed playing Bingo at the Saugus Senior Center.
Eileen is survived by her many nieces and nephews including Thomas J. and Charlene Foy Gibney of Marblehead, Sharleen and Michael Cole of Lynn, Edward “Ted” Keating of Virginia, John W. Keating of Rhode Island and Mary E. MacAdam of California. Also survived by several grand nieces and nephews and a great grand nephew.
She was the sister of the late Muriel E. Gibney.
Funeral from the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn Saturday at 9:00 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Pius V Church at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday from 3-7 PM. Gifts in her memory may be made to St. Pius V Endowment Fund 215 Maple St. Lynn, MA 01904. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
