Edmund Blaisdell, age 79, of Peabody, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 10, 2023. He was born in Lynn on January 21, 1944. Edmund was the beloved husband of Lynette Blaisdell and the loving father of Darlene Blaisdell Budds and Daniel Blaisdell, along with their spouses Ben Budds and Heather Blaisdell. He was also a cherished grandfather of Brittany, Robbie, Aaron, Meredith, Ryan, Tanja and Jacob.
Eddie graduated from Lynn English High School in 1963, then started working as a master craftsman mason for Local 12. After that, he worked for the City of Lynn as a Building Inspector for more than 20 years, retiring in 2004. He was then able to spend his later years working side by side with his son Dan at Blaisdell Construction.
He enjoyed fishing and boating. He also loved camping with his wife and children all over the New England region as his young family grew, spending many a weekend at White Lake State Park. The true joy of his life were his children and grandchildren. Watching them grow and develop side by side with Lynette, attending sporting or school events swimming in the pool or just hanging out and telling one of his numerous stories.
Eddie and Lynette also were avid gardeners and enjoyed sharing the fruits of their labor at family cookouts and lobster fests. Eddie always had a smile for everyone he met and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Edmund was preceded in death by his parents, Edmund and Celia Blaisdell, and his sisters Claire Hunt, Adeline Mullen and Nancy Dembro. His surviving siblings are Joanne Riley, Patricia D'Angelo, Elaine Bellone, Annette Crowe, Janice Smerzynski, Thomas Blaisdell, and leaves numerous nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during this time.
