Doris M. Day

Doris M. (Carvalho) Day, 91, of Lynn, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Manuel and Mae (Alphonse) Carvalho. She lived in Lynn for the greater part of her life.

Doris worked as a nursing assistant at the NSMC Union Hospital in Lynn for over 26 years until her retirement. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for Project Linus, gardening, reading, whale watching as well as attending the various forums at the Kennedy Library, and traveling to Sao Miguel, Azores, and Lisbon, Portugal.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen Day of Lynn and her son Frederick Day of Lynn, her sister, Helen Mitchell of Lynn as well as nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frank J. Carvalho.

Doris Funeral will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Tuesday at 11 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours Monday from 4-8 PM.
