She was born on March 4, 1947 to the late James P.R. and Florence (Gard) McDonald.
A lifelong Lynn resident, growing up in the Highland section of Lynn, Donna cherished the lifelong friendships from the “High Rock Gang,” a band of close friends that became her extended brothers and sisters. She attended St. Joseph Institute, St. Mary’s High School, and Lynn English High School, class of 1965. She was employed at the Swampscott Housing Authority, retiring after 33 years of service as the Executive Director.
Mother to daughters, Maryann (Frazier) Thurston and Dean, Colleen (Frazier) Cunningham and Lee and son John (Jack) R. Frazier Jr. and unofficial co-mother to Leann (Marston) Orwell, she was the former wife of the Late John R. Frazier Sr. She leaves eight grandchildren, Dean Thurston Jr. and Julie, Theodore Thurston, Valerie Thurston, Robert Prouty, Kaleigh Rae Prouty, Talon Gendron, Derrick A. Frazier, Rachel O. Frazier, four great grandchildren, Kelsey Thurston, Jacob Joshua (JJ) Primataris, Gwen Thurston, and Rhiannon Rae Prouty. She was the sister to Dianne (McDonald) DiOrio and James and Linda McDonald and Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Life Care Center of Lynn for the excellent care they provided which allowed Donna to return home to live out the rest of her days, as well as the staff at the Addison Gilbert Hospital who provided comfort to her and her family in her final days.
Services will be held in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Saturday November 5, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
