Donna L. Burgess

Donna was born December 10, 1956 in Lynn, she is the daughter of the late Clayton S. and Ruth (Kevill) Cook. She was a lifelong resident of Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1974.

Donna worked as a Receiving Clerk in the Warehouse at Cardinal Health in Peabody for many years.

She was a member of Division 10 Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was an avid Patriots, Red Sox and Bruins fan. Donna enjoyed getting her family together and was always willing and able to organize family events and will always be remembered as the fun aunt who never forgot anyone’s birthday.

Donna is survived by her son John H. Burgess, III of Lynn, her brother Retired Mass State Police Captain Michael J. Cook and his wife Mary Beth of Clinton, her sisters Diane Nordyke of Lynn and Deborah Raftery and her partner Lee Oliver of Lynn. She is also survived by her longtime devoted friend Joseph Querol of Methuen, her Goddaughter Jacquelyn Massucco as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Donna is predeceased by her siblings Barbara “Cookie” Cormier and her late husband Paul, Carol Burch, Arleen Durgin, Kathleen Pascoe and Colleen Adamo and her late husband Vito as well as her brother in law David Nordyke.

Donna’s visiting hours will be in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2-5 PM. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Pius V Church 215 Maple St. Lynn on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. In lieu of flowers donations in Donna’s memory may be made to The North Shore Cancer Walk 81 Highland Ave Salem, MA 01970.
