Connie was born in Lynn on September 26, 1911, she was the beloved daughter of the late Francesco “Frank” and Josephine (D’Ambro) Rando. She was a lifelong communicant, lector and Eucharistic Minister of Holy Family Parish.
Connie attended Lynn Classical High School, graduating with the class of 1929. Following high school, Connie received her certificate of study in elementary education from State Teachers College in 1932 and later received her bachelor’s degree in education from Salem State College in 1965. Connie spent her 41 year teaching career serving the Lynn Public Schools as a second grade teacher at the Lynn Woods School.
She was a member of the Lynn Teachers Association, the Essex County Retired Teachers Association, and was a lifetime member of both the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She is also a member of the Omega Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. In addition to her teaching associations, she was the first Vice President of the Infant of Prague Guild and the first President of the Our Lady’s Sodality of Holy Family. Connie was also the co-chairperson of many fundraising events and celebrations for Holy Family Parish throughout the years.
In addition to her parents, Connie is predeceased by her brothers Francis W. and Charles J. Rando; her sisters Mary G. and Josephine Rando; and her beloved nephews Charles L. and William F. Rando She is survived by many grandnieces, grandnephews and her cherished longtime friend Sally Cuffe.
Arrangements: Friends and family are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Wednesday, December 30th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Connie’s name may be made to Meals on Wheels and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
