Claire Z. Hunt

LYNN- Claire Z. (Blaisdell) Hunt, 84, a lifelong resident of Lynn, passed away, Monday, July 27, 2015, hours before her beloved husband, Sherman Hunt, Jr. to whom she was married for 65 years. Born in Lynn, Claire was the daughter of the late Edward and Celia (Savard) Blaisdell; the loving mother of Robert Hunt and his wife Mary, Scott Hunt and his wife, Maryellen, all of Lynn, Bruce Hunt of Salem and Cathy Lobb of Lynn; the cherished grandmother of Jamie, Matthew, Amy, Bethany, Megan and Emily and 5 great-grandchildren; the dear sister of Edmund Blaisdell of Lynn, Thomas Blaisdell of Groveland, Patricia D’Angelo of Lynn, Nancy Dembro of Revere, Adeline Mullen of Salem, Joanne Riley of Peabody, Elaine McCormick of Swampscott, Annette Crowe of Middleton, Janice Smerczynski of Danvers; and the aunt of many nieces and nephews. She worked for American Mutual Insurance for many years. After her retirement she worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She was a lifelong communicant and active parishioner of St. Pius V Church. She enjoyed knitting , shopping and reading. Most of all, she and Sherman loved spending time and entertaining with family and friends, especially with their grandchildren. Claire’ s and Sherman’s funeral will be held at the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St., Lynn, on Monday, August 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. in St. Pius V Church, 215 Maple Street, Lynn. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
