Mrs. Barbara A. (Tracy) Wallace,83, of Peabody passed away peacefully at home on November 7, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Frank S. Wallace, Jr. who she married in 1950.
Barbara was born and raised in Lynn and was the daughter of the late Margaret (Bowden) and James Tracy. She attended Lynn schools and was a resident of Peabody for the past 20 years, previously residing in Lynn.
Frank and Barbara were known as the “King and Queen of the Waltz” amongst their friends. Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her “cop” shows, especially “Law and Order; SVU” and “Blue Bloods”. She also enjoyed watching her soaps. Barbara will always be remembered as being very witty, having a contagious smile and for her wisdom. Her two granddaughters Jillian and Jenna took great pride in being there grandmother’s care takers.
She is survived by her three daughters Wendy Zapolski and her husband Bob of Conway, NH, Paula O’Connor of Fryberg, ME and Kathy Mulcahy and her husband Dennis of Peabody. Her daughter in law Diane Wallace of Medford.She leaves one sister Phyllis Hutchinson of Colorado.she was the former mother in law of Denise Wallace, with whom she shared a special bond. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Stephanie Chianca, Jennifer Reed, Stacey Wallace, Jillian and Jenna Mulcahy, Matthew Leonard and a furry little granddog Bailey. She also leaves four great grandchildren Gianna Chianca, Rayne Fleury, Matthew Chianca , Brady Reed and many nieces nephews and cousins.
She was the mother of the late Revere Police Lt. Steven E. Wallace and grandmother of the late Mark E. Fleury, Jr. and Vanna Mulcahy and sister of the late Frank Tracy.
Barbara’s Funeral will be from the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St. Lynn Thursday at 9:30 AM. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery, Lynn. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
