Born on Martha’s Vineyard, MA on June 21, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Julia Silvia. Barbara graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the class of 1946, and then went on to work as a retail accountant for many years before her retirement.
In her free time, Barbara enjoyed doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. She was also an avid reader, and would catch the Red Sox games as often as possible. Above all else though, Barbara loved her family. Spending time with her dear children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sisters brought her so much joy, and she cherished every memory she got to make with them.
Surviving Barbara are her loving children, Pamela J. Bourque and her husband Thomas of Brockton, James E. Hoy and his wife Theresa of Danvers, and Lori A. Fionda and her husband John of Wakefield; her grandchildren, Kristen J. Bourque of Brockton, Jason T. Bourque and his wife Lauren of Norfolk, Jenna L. Hoy of Denver, CO, Ashley Keough of Danvers, and Brook Keough of Danvers; her great-grandchildren, Grayson, Parker, and Maisie Bourque of Norfolk; her siblings, Donna Hogan of Lynn, and Thomas Silvia and his wife Barbara of Lynn; her sister-in-laws, Margaret Hoy and Elizabeth Silvia, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and great nieces and nephews.
