Michael L. Chaffee

Born on October 28, 1937 in Lyndonville, NY, he was the son of the late Brian and Marjorie (Barry) Chaffee.

On November 10, 1956, he married the former Barbara Lewis and together they made their home in Lyndonville. He worked as a self-employed mechanic and lastly worked for the Town of Yates Highway Dept. from which he retired. He enjoyed wood working and gardening, especially on his John Deere tractors.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara, two daughters, Candace Caleb and Gayle (Donald) White, all of Lyndonville, six grandchildren, Shannon, Rachel, Michael, Randi (Andrew), Ryan, Faith: six great-grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Dylan, Lilly, Rubie, Eli; two siblings, Dave Thiel of Akron and Susan (Jerry) Schleef of Lockport and several nieces and nephews.

Michael is predeceased by two brothers, Chester and Robert and a son Jeffrey.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, May 13, 2014, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Bates & Tuttle Funeral Home, 112 N. Main St., Lyndonville, NY, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery.
